This product works better than any other product I have tried. It controls my dandruff and leaves my hair healthy. Be sure to get the Denorex with the blue cap. The orange cap version does not work as well. Unfortunately it is hard to find the blue cap version (coal tar) in retail stores. For some reason other coal tar products don`t seem to work as well.
Great shampoo. I have psoriasis and if used regularly, this shampoo really helps me. As far as the smell goes... I agree it`s not exactly pleasant. But, after one uses the shampoo, take another shampoo that smells good and go over your hair quickly and rinse quickly. Don`t massage into the scalp. It will definitely cut the tar smell and not interfere with the effectiveness of the Denorex.
Thank God for this formula with Coal Tar!! I have suffered with dry patching, itching scalp for most of my life and I tried every dandruff control shampoo thinking that it would help with my problem. I read all the reviews and decided to give it a try. Yes, it smells bad BUT it leaves your hair feeling clean and very smooth. I`ve been using this for about 2 years now and I haven`t had a problem with my scalp anymore. This has saved me embarrassing shoulder brushing and has allowed me to wear all the dark colored clothing. It takes about a week to see absolutely no flaking (at least in my case)
