I was very happy to find an affordable heart rate monitor like the others. I got mine back home (out of the USA) and went to the gym put it on and walked out of the dressing room. According to the monitor I should have been in the hospital because standing still, not having done a single workout, my heart rate was 220. I have changed the batteries and had the fitness pro look at it to no avail. I was told that it does work, but you just cant use it as something is loose inside and it should be sent in for repair. If I find the manual for it I could get it fixed here locally, but since I thought it had crapped out I guess I tossed the booklet. Can somebody get GNC to put these things on line like every other manufacturer of products of this type? It is very frustrating to buy something with what you know should be a trusted name and have it be a worthless waste of money.
Just like the other two reviewers I thought I lucked out in finding an inexpensive heart rate monitor but it died shortly after I purchased it. Besides, if you`re a women the strap that goes around your ribs doesn`t get small enough so it falls down during your workout.
I was so happy to have this heart rate monitor. It`s not very old. It was purchased in May. Right now my heart rate is reading 212, but it is actually 66. That`s really frustrating because I should be running right now, but I decided to stop and write a review to warn others about this HRM. It will only last a few months, and even when it was recording my heart rate, it wasn`t always accurate. Get an upscale model unless you just want something to use for a few weeks.
