These little cellophane-like things are wonderful. I`ve used them on my mom who has very, very thin skin to cover skin tears, and now on myself with serious rope burn on two fingers. They are great cover and yet breathe. This style, sold here, is easier to apply than the ones you get from the MD`s office of a hospital.
My mother recently had surgery and they used this in the hospital. She said that this was more comfortable and not itchy like the paper tape usually used to secure gauze and IV`s. It is waterproof and is very easy to apply. I recommend this for any large wound that needs to stay clean and that cannot get wet.
I love these Tegaderm Dressings. If you`ve ever been bummed out because you couldn`t go swimming or to a waterpark with youre new piercing, this is your answer. You just cover the piercing with one of these patches and it`s protected and kept clean. You don`t have to worry about getting infections or irritation from the water you are in. Several piercers and piercees have recommended these to me and they are wonderful! Obviously they wouldn`t work for certain ear or certain private area piercings but they are great to use on navels, nipples, cheek piercings, and surface piercings.
