This thermometer is so innacurate, do not buy it. I was not feeling well and took my temperature with it to see if I had a fever. It registered my temperature at 97.6. Two days later, I still didn`t feel well, and decided to go to urgent care. It turns out I had a 100 degree fever. As soon as I got home, I pulled out the BD thermometer, and it gave me a 96.6 reading. Talk about super-innacurate!!
Not so fast, not accurate. Recorded my oral temp at 96.2, my daughter who felt warm to me at 97.2 Got out my other thermometer (timex), which recorded me at 98.5 and her at 99.6!
This is a TERRIBLE thermometer. I couldn`t understand why I was getting such weirdly low readings until I figured out that it wasn`t allowing time for it to warm up. When I turned the unit off and put it in my mouth for a while, then turned it on it gave a much more accurate reading (some 1.2 degrees above what the original reading was!). Highly inaccurate...don`t waste your money!
