I choose this lip balm because I wanted to try something new and I needed something with sun protection. The Vanilla Mint Java Balm was a great choice, because it`s moisturizing and has SPF 15, and has a decent smell/flavor, too. I`d definitely prefer more coffee/vanilla and less mint, but oh well. Plus, it leaves a light shine just like a lip gloss, which I wasn`t expecting at all but totally love.
I got this because I liked the reviews I saw. When I put this on, my lips immediately got cold (I am sure a reaction of the mint), and I dont smell the vanilla... it smells more like coffee (javabalm). If you are looking for a good chapstick (which after 30 minutes I still feel it on, but probably will choose soft lips, Alba Hawaiian, or Aveeno Essential Moisture to reapply) that is full of smell, then I guess you may want this. If you dont want to smell your lips every time you move you face or breathe out of your mouth, then dont get this.
I really like this lip balm. It goes on smooth and lasts a long time. I also have a tendency to lick and bite my lips and this has a nice taste. My boyfriend likes it too. I made the mistake of buying cherry flavored Carmex and it just has this weird bitter taste that neither me nor my boyfriend can stand. JAVABALM is now the only thing I will buy!
