I wear contact lenses and suffer from dry eyes during the day. My optometrist suggested that I place 1-2 drops in each eye after my lenses are removed. They do a FANTASTIC job of restoring my eyes. They feel so much better in the morning if I`ve used Systane in them. I feel that if I`ve used the drops at night, my eyes are better the next day. Not as dry as they would be if I hadn`t used Systane. Awesome product.
My ophthalmologist gave me a sample bottle of Systane recently. After trying it, I was pleasantly surprised that it is so good. For the past year, trial after trial produced nothing but products that either were so thick they made vision blurry, or they were like water and the eye scratchiness and dry eye symptoms reappeared after an hour. I will be purchasing SYSTANE from now on. It is really a great product.
Gooey but long-lasting.
Long lasting and gentle but causes a LOT of blurriness when applied and leaves residue around your eyes.
Really didn`t like the fact that it makes my vision blurry and it doesn`t seem to last long. My ophthalmologist suggested trying different brands and I`m glad he did. I didn`t realize that not all brands make my eyes so blury and gooey feeling. For those of you with this problem try Soothe. It`s smoother, silkier and doesn`t make my eyes blurry.
High in price, and ingredients are same as cheaper eye drops at half the price. Caused blurring and made my eyes feel sticky.
This is the very best liquid tears that I have used. I have a rippled retina and double vision, which causes my eyes to be very dry and tired. This is the first eye drop that I have used that stays moist.
I have corneal dystrophy, and the statane alone with muro and humidifiers have helped alot.
I find these completely non-lubricating and useless! I have an auto-immune disorder that causes dry eye, so I`ve been working my way through various brands. I noticed almost no effect from the Systane drops - very little immediate spothing, and no sustained relief, even applying 4-5 times over the course of a workday. I find Allergan Refresh Cellu-visc much more soothing.
I used this product after my LASIK surgery for moderate dry eye. It provides a reasonable level of instant relief when applied. However, it is quite viscous. That`s supposed to be a plus, but I found that within 15-30 minutes the lubricant tended to dry out and make my eye feel less comfortable than prior to the drops. Also, when I used it at night, the product seemed to block and/or irritate my tear ducts as I slept. I eventually switched to Bausch & Lomb Moisture Eyes, which has a similar lubricant but is not as thick, more like regular tears.
Since my Lasik surgery, I have had to use eye drops at regular intervals throughout the day. After using Theratears regularly for the past two years, I decided to try Systane. Although I was pleased with Theratears, I immediately noticed an improvement using Systane. Not only were Systane drops less irritating, but they lasted much longer. Normally, I would apply Theratears every two hours (4-6 times a day). Using Systane, I only have to apply drops three times each day. I suggest Systane drops for people who have had Lasik surgery or those who use a computer frequently.
Worth the extra money. It is thicker than regular artificial eye drops and lasts longer. It was recommended to me by my eye doctor.
