These have quite a strong licorice taste, which most people I know don`t like, so I couldn`t really recommend it, just on that basis. I guess I am just used to mentholated cough drops and the like, because these leave me underwhelmed. They seem to dissolve too quickly to really relieve any hoarseness or throat soreness for me. With no mentholatum, it doesn`t help clear sinuses, which I personally need in a lozenge. I respect the opinion of all the others on here, but this product just doesn`t work well for me.
For many years, I struggled with my voice cracking as I talked and/or sang plus had constant hoarseness. After only a few days of using this product, all that was cured! I take one any time I need to talk for longer periods of time and definitely before singing in my choir! No other product, RX or over-the-counter, worked to help my condition, yet THIS product has brought me an awesome miracle!
i use the product when i sing. they enable me to sing with less stress to my voice when trying to hit high notes. i started using them in the mid 1960`s when i was in high school choir. they were spectacular. as per my title they are not quite the original formula. the original formula contained a minute quantity of chloroform. i would imagine that minute quantity was used to relax the vocal chords. i have used the new formulation and i really did not notice any appreciable difference. the only obvious difference is the price from 40 years ago and now and yes the price has gone up by about 10 times but are Throat Discs worth the price. yes they are still a bargain because they really work.
