Truly a great product. I had been having indoor allergies for three weeks since I turned on the A/C once, but it has completely gotten better just from turning this on for a day. It is also very quiet (my A/C is louder.) I`ve read some reviews on the web, and they have all been positive (i.e. fixed allergies problem, quiet), with the exception of expensive energy consumption because it is on all-day. Not a problem for me, because electricity is included with the rent. drugstore.com also has the best price by far on the web, including free shipping.
I bought this "SilentComfort" unit a couple weeks ago to help with allergies. I can`t yet speak to how well it does its job. What I can speak to is the sound level, because I am admittedly a little picky about noise and I chose this one for its advertised quietness, but silent it is not. It is fairly quiet on low, and medium would probably be okay for watching TV (I`m not sure because I have it in the bedroom). High level, while quieter than other units, is still not something I would choose to listen to. I have another, smaller unit that is definitely noisier, so this unit is an improvement in sound level, and the low level is low enough and "steady" enough that I have no trouble sleeping at all. But the description that says "it`s so quiet that you may not be sure it`s even working" is quite laughable.
