I really like this gel. My whole family uses this product. I have very thick and curly hair. It`s great at cotrolling frizz and fly-aways. And my husband has thick straight hair and it works great for him too. The best part is my hair is actually healthier than when I use those heavy gels with alcohol.
Maybe those who gave this product less than 5 stars did not use enough at one time. When I first used it I thought the hold was weak, but when I amped up the amount to twice as much, I went HOORAY!!! I love the stuff.
I have used this product when my hair (medium coarse) was permed or left naturally straight. My hair is also colored. This is the only product that gives my hair the root volume to achieve either a straight and spiky look, smooth and curved, or dried into natural curls when I had a perm. Have tried many other styling products, and I always come back to this one. Yes, the smell isn`t the greatest, but after drying, it`s gone, and the effects are worth it!
This stuff does the job! Makes my hair slick without residue or stiff, unnatural feeling.
Does NOT have strong hold at all...barely any hold.
I like that Aveda uses some natural ingredients, but this one smells like alcohol and rubber cement which I couldn`t get over. Overpowering smell stays for a while then it gets milder. This would have been ok if it was unscented or had a more pleasant smell. The consistency is not even gel-like, more like slimy to watery. It`s also expensive.
INCREDIBLE! This is the ONLY product (and I`ve tried lots over the years!) that truly controls the frizzies whether I let my hair air-dry or I diffuse it! I have naturally curly, easily frizzed, and slightly course hair and a hairstylist recommended it. Here`s the trick - diffuse your hair at high heat without touching the hair at first allowing the curls to form. Once dry (& a little crunchy), gently roll the curls between your hands for a softer look/feel while preserving the awesome curls.
