Since trying Toms of Maine years ago, other brands of toothpastes all taste gaggingly nasty to me. This one in particular has the most amazing taste that I actually brush much longer than I would otherwise. And my teeth are so much cleaner from the gentle abrasives they use. If you like black licorice, this is a total yumfest. I am spoiled for all other toothpastes. Darn you, Toms of Maine! :)
I love this toothpaste... my teeth feel smooth and clean longer than with any other I`ve tried, including Melaleuca & Sensadine. The fennel flavor is mild (to me, I don`t know what the other reviewers mean) and doesn`t make my coffee taste bad!
My husband and I love this toothpaste. It`s fluoride-free, cleans well, and leaves the mouth feeling fresh. The taste may be a bit strong for those who are not used to organic products (or the taste of fennel or certain herbs), and the whitening properties aren`t the best. We can see a small difference in the shades of our teeth, but nothing like the results one would get when using mainstream whitening toothpaste. Overall, a good product though!
I had to call the company and got another toothpaste. My husband and I liked all other tom`s products, but this one is...well...a little too strong, and the flavor is not really fennel. After just one use, my husband asked me to return it. If you expect herb-like flavor, this is not it. I might use it again when I want to lose my appetite right away (sorry, but can be a good diet tool). It really does its job well, even better than my Colgate.

Love this Fennel flavor. Instead of a nasty Mint explosion type of taste--you get a mild and soothing black licorice flavor. For that reason alone, I will continue buying Tom`s toothpastes. Tried the gingermint (was pleasant but a little too odd for me). The apricot was a little saccharin-y sweet but still better than typical peppermints. The Fennel will clean your mouth and teeth, and then wash away so that it doesn`t mix badly with the next thing you eat or drink (unlike the minty ones).
Tom`s of Maine is a terrific company, and generally speaking I am a big fan of all their products. However, the flavor of this toothpaste is absolutely revolting. Seriously, if you`ve ever had a bad Jagermeister night (you know who you are), then imagine the taste in your mouth the next morning and you`ve got this toothpaste. And it stays with you! I used mint mouthwash, drank a breakfast shake, and consumed four cups of strong coffee and I CAN STILL TASTE IT! Now I realize that some people may actually like the taste, and if so then this is a terrific product. Just be warned, if you don`t like the taste of black licorice following you all day, you won`t like this toothpaste!
I really like this toothpaste, though it took a bit of getting used to before I came to this conclusion. The fennel, which is a licorice taste, is not the usual minty toothpaste flavor I am used to, but after getting used to it I had to admit that my mouth felt a lot cleaner for a longer period of time after brushing. If you don`t like licorice you will definitely not want to try this one! I would say the whitening power is mediocre, but it does whiten better than your average toothpaste. One bit of advice - you might want to use less than you would of other toothpastes for two reasons, the first being that the taste is fairly strong, and the second being that it lathers very well. I find that a little goes a long way with this toothpaste, which is a good thing since the cost is on the high side. I would definitely purchase this item again.
Yay Tom`s of Maine! I`ve used several of their toothpastes before, but this one is my favorite. It tastes good, cleans well, and is easy on my sensitive teeth and gums.
I absolutely love this product! I love the taste and the texture. It works great with my electric toothbrush; no splatters or mess. And it really did make my teeth whiter; even my dentist noticed how white my teeth are. I would recommend this toothpaste to anyone. I love the taste and how it made my teeth really white naturally! 5 BIG stars for this product!
