I eat a *lot* of salmon but I can`t get my teenaged daughter to eat fish at all, so I bought these for her. The ratio of EPA to DHA omegas is exactly what I was looking for, based on research I did into preventing stress-induced depression, which runs in our family. Just two pills a day gives the right dosage at an excellent price. AND -- my daughter says she does *not* get burps or a fishy taste from them (if she did, you can be sure she`d balk at taking them). She takes them with chocolate milk in the morning (gets her calcium, too) and says that helps her get them down.
I found the enteric coating to be effective, as described - i.e., no bad smell, taste, after-taste, etc. Another reviewer reported otherwise, so I wanted to add my 2 cents. Been using for 3+ months. I cannot yet comment on effect on my cholesterol, but this is the most potent-per-capsule of what (as I understand things) really counts - mg of DHA and EPA. As far as I know, mere mg of oil is not clinically important. The capsules are large, but for me are preferable to taking more capsules to get same amount of DHA and EPA total. I am taking 1 cap, 2x/day. Frankly, I am puzzled by the variation in DHA/EPA mg in the various fish oil products, even w/in the GNC brand, and especially relative to price/capsule. As best as I can figure, this is the best bang-4-buck of the products, but YMMV (your mileage may vary).
I have used fish oil products before, including other GNC brand products, that were fine. These, however, smelled disgusting and left a bad taste in my mouth for hours. I threw away two bottles after one days use. I put all my daily supplements in a little pill case and the taste of these nasty pills made my other supplements taste and smell bad too. It really was gross.
