My cold sores usually last a week or more. I have used Abreva, Campho-Phenique, tea tree oil. None have worked well, as my cold sores ended up lasting more than a week and I eventually got a huge scar because my lips were too dry. This time, the minute I felt that tingling sensation I took an ice cube and melted it on my lip (3 times that night!!). I then dabbed some yogurt on the sore (I was out of ointments that night). The next morning I woke up and it wasn`t too swollen. In fact, I could hardly feel it. I purchased this product and I`ve been applying it for 2 days and the cold sore is almost gone. My lips aren`t swollen, I do not have a scab, maybe a small circular spot that is a bit darker than my lips, but hardly noticeable! Not too expensive, but works very well and goes on clear. I highly recommend it!!
This product does not cause the pain or blister that other products cause. It is nice smelling and can be used frequently. It helped me heal in one day versus 5 days with other products. I highly recommend this product!
I have used countless OTC and prescription drugs to battle cold sores that I have been getting since my teens. I can honestly say that this product works wonders! I have pneumonia, and woke up 2 days later with a cold sore, quite common when my immune system runs low. I decided to try this and within 2 DAYS (NOT 2 weeks), the cold sore is almost gone. I truly find this to be a miracle, and recommend to those who suffer to give it a try...it surely can`t hurt, and hopefully you will have the same wonderful results I did!
I would rather give it zero stars. Not only did this not help me any, it actually irritated my already chapped lips. It`s a tiny tube and expensive! Run far, run fast!
This product is amazing! I start to feel the tingle of a cold sore coming on and apply and it prevents the cold sore from coming up. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has problems with chronic cold sores as I do!

The Lysine concept is good, but this ointment is too runny. I think they wanted to keep the product very natural; using olive oil as a base, but it ends up feeling too oily and slides off easily. I`ve decided to keep it in the refrigerator so that the ointment will be cool and thicker upon application. As far as helping cold sores, I`d give it two stars...it`s too slick to use regularly so I can`t attest to how well it works.
I have tried all types of cold sore treatments, but I found none to work on my stubborn cold sores. One day I tried this product, and because of the powerful lysine, it cleared up quickly! Before, it took weeks. With Lysine plus, growth stops immediately and it quickly begins to decrease in size. I am a loyal fan. Trust me, the other more expensive treatments do not really work!
