Having had several pre-cancerous growths removed from my face, I decided to up my SPF from 30 to 55, using Neutrogena`s Age Shield Face Sunblock. I used it one time. I just returned from my physician`s office. I have a bright red rash over my entire face, which, I am advised, will probably last at least 1-2 weeks. I had to buy a special cream with which to treat this rash. I have also been told this outbreak may have made my facial skin sensitive to future sunblock treatments regardless of SPF or manufacturer. I enjoy golfing and this news is disappointing.
I love this sunscreen. One of the few out there that actually protects against UVA & UVB, doesn`t grease out my already oily face, doesn`t leave that ridiculous white cast, doesn`t cost a fortune, doesn`t have that horrendous SS smell, and actually makes a good make up base. Great stuff.
This is my go-to sunscreen. I used to use Neutrogena Dry-Touch, but realized it flaked off quite easily, leaving me with less protection. This one doesn`t flake and is one of the less greasy sunscreens out there. It also has the chemical stabilizer Helioplex, which makes it much more protective than probably 90% of the other chemical-based sunscreens out there.
