I`ve been using this hand cream for years. The texture is thick (think cold cream) but doesn`t feel gummy or greasy on my hands. I actually love to use the hand cream on my legs after I shave because I find it totally does away with any shaving "burns" and makes my legs feel even softer and clean-shaven. I have a very picky sense of smell, and I usually try to buy fragrance-free products, but I really like the smell of this cream. I don`t consider it "old-lady." It doesn`t have a perfume-y smell, and isn`t fruity or musky. It smells fresh and clean to me. It doesn`t smell like true shea butter (and if you`ve ever smelled pure shea butter, you`ll be grateful that it doesn`t). Improvements? First, the price is outrageous (but I can`t live without the stuff!). Secondly, the cream comes in a metal tube, which makes the last few tablespoons of hand cream difficult to squeeze out; a switch over to plastic would be more practical (not to mention ecological).
This thing SMELLS!!! *sigh*... yes, my hands do feel very smooth and soft after use (well, which hand cream doesn`t do that??). But I can`t stand the smell!! I SMELL LIKE MY GRANDMA AFTER I USE IT!!!
This cream works really well for dry hands. I work in healthcare and I constantly am using the alcohol foam, scrubbing vigorously with caustic agents to be sterile for surgery, and this cream works well to moisturize. That being said, it`s fairly expensive for what it does. I use other moisturizers as well that are cheaper, but not drug store cheap that work similarly to keep my hands from being dried and cracked. Perhaps the only difference is that this seems to last longer through the day despite repeated hand washing. When applied this moisturizer feels a little sticky until it is entirely absorbed. It has an odd scent. I don`t dislike it. I`m not certain that it smells like old lady. It smells a little bit like a powder of some sort. Overall a good product whose only limitation is its price.
This is one of the few products that I won`t go without. I had dry, cracked cuticles for a long time..and I`d, of course, pick at them which made my hands look AWFUL. I used this befre bed for two nights in a row and - no lie - there was a noticeable improvement. Remarkable, actually. This stuff is amazing. As for the scent, I love it, but then that is subjective. My boyfriend is hooked on it now, too. Anybody who raves about this hand cream knows what I am talking about.
Why the scent?! When everything else is perfect. This strong old lady scent is a real downer. It reminds me of my grandma, but please, I don`t really want to smell like her. I`m afraid to use it around people although it`s a good hand cream.
Love it! It truly does work miracles! My dry, dry hands feel baby soft. I gave it 4 stars, because I am not crazy about the scent.
I ABSOLUTELY love this hand creme. I`ve never been fond of lotions or hand cremes until I found this. It doesn`t leave your hands feeling greasy, etc. I`ve been using for about 5 years now, and it`s the best I`ve found.
FABULOUS! Clean, soft smell. Quickly absorbed, very rich. Best hand cream I`ve ever tried, no doubt due to the high concentration of Shea butter in this product. Highly recommended! By far the best hand cream out there, and I`ve tried tons.
I am a flight attendant and my hands dry out badly during long trips. Cracks on the sides of my nails and sandpaper knuckles. I am contantly applyig lotion. A passenger gave me a tube (didn`t care for the smell). Well this creme works immediately, and works well. I don`t mind the smell and so far no one has mentioned an unpleasant odor on board. My cuticles look better, too.
This moisturizes really well, but it smells really terrible. Kind of like baby powder, but in a very bad way. I`d be tempted to try the lavender, but I don`t want to spend so much money to smell bad.
