I`ve been using this cream for about 2 weeks and am very happy with it. It seems to be cleaning up my blackheads and large, clogged pores (although, no cream will get rid of all of them). It feels good and smells fine to me. I recommend it for people in their 30s and up looking to clear up pores while still maintain moisture for anti-aging benefits.
I used this for a few weeks and really didn`t see any kind of result. It certainly isn`t worth the price. And I agree with the other reviews, the smell is too medicinal.
I agree with Jennifer`s earlier review. After trying numerous products for years for my 30-something oily breakout blackhead and aging skin, this is THE product for me. I love the cleanser, toner, and especially this pore effect night cream. I`ve tried Murad, Wexler, Arbonne, and Mary Kay, and this is the best routine I`ve found so far. After using the first week and consistently every since, my skin is noticebly less oily, less reddened from blemishes, less dry from overcleansing, and my makeup stays on! At first the scent can seem a little strong, but I quickly got used to it and find it to be a nice, natural, relaxing herbal treatment for my skin that actually works! I would not recommend for teenage problem skin, but perfect for middle agers who need a more delicate balance between problem skin and aging skin needs.
While I agree the smell isn`t great, it has definitely cleared up my acne and calmed down my redness from rosacea. I find that it is less smelly and drying if you only use it once a day at night and put some type of night cream over it.
This product seemed to be giving my skin some kind of clarifying benefit, as it felt kind of tighter and less oily after use. However, I didn`t notice a difference in my pores or breakouts, so for two weeks I used the product on only one half of my face. After two weeks, the halves looked exactly the same...which led me to conclude that Pore Effect actually had no effect. Don`t waste your money.
I have been religiously using this for several years now as a night treatment. It is great for folks in their thirties who still get mild breakouts or clogged pores because it keeps them at bay while still providing moisture! I am not sure this would be a product for severe acne, but my skin has been clearer and prettier in the years that I have been using it, and when I ran out for a month, I noticed a big decline in the appearence of my skin. I will keep using it as long as it is available!
Trusting Dr. Brandt`s advertised claims that he successfully treats pillaris keratosis with this product, I purchased a total of 12 jars. Discouragingly,after 3 months of continuous and meticulous use, there`s been absolutely NO improvement in my condition at all. In addition to its ineffectiveness, "Pore Effect" leaves a greasy residue on my skin, and carries a strong,unpleasant medicinal odor that lingers on the body for hours. I am extremely unimpressed with this product, and am disgusted that drugstore.com force`s you to post a minimum of 1 Star in order to have your opinion posted. :( ZERO STARS.
This felt too heavy for my combination skin/very oily t-zone. It feels light and smooth going on, but too mosturizing for oily skins. I did not see an improvement in my skin while using it.
The Dr. Brandt Poreless Pore Effect had really no effect at all. After 3 weeks of using it, it hasn`t made me break out more than usual, but I haven`t noticed my skin getting any better either. I probably won`t purchase again.
