I`ve tried to use waxed floss and it just doesn`t get the plaque off my teeth! Used to be I could get un-waxed at the local drug store, but no more. I usually order several at a time from drugstore.com and I am sure glad they carry this. It is THE BEST for getting off those yucky gum-destroying "sweaters" from your teeth. Like my dentist said, "you don`t have to floss ALL your teeth, just the ones you want to keep!"
I used to love Glide floss because it glides beautifully between my teeth. However, my dental hygienist told me that unwaxed floss is the most effective. My gums have been much better since I switched to Reach unwaxed. Yes, it`s not as easy to use, but I`m not flaxing for fun. I`m flaxing to keep my gums healthy. It occasionally breaks, but not very often. It`s not so fine that it cuts your gums.
I have used unwaxed floss all my life and J&J is the best. I ultra-rarely experience breaks while flossing, the unwaxed floss leaves NO plaquey, waxy feeling and my dentist agrees my gums are healthy. Best floss on the planet.
