We`ve had lots of the flat catnip/scratcher thingies over the years. This one got such great reviews I thought there must be something special about it. If there is, my cats haven`t found it. They use it every once in a while, but far prefer the one that lies flat on the ground. I`m sorry I got this -- it takes up much more room and seldom is used.
I figured there was NO WAY my cat would use this, but I decided to give it a try anyway. He has a habit of scratching my expensive couch and office chair. Well, lo and behold, he uses it!!! He does still scratch on my couch and chair but much less frequently. I believe that if Miles will use the Alpine Scratcher, any cat will.
This is one of my Kitty`s favorite hang outs! She loves to scratch on it, but she also just likes to lie on the slant and watch the birds in the garden. My fur baby prefers the slanted Alpine to the flat scratch pads and she uses it all the time!
The cat absolutely loves this scratcher, one of the best. I love the idea of the flip sides, so that they don`t run out as easily.
The minute I took this out of the box my cat appeared. Before we had this she scratched the upholstered chair legs down to the wood. Since I bought this, she is much less interested in the upholstery. I tried everything to keep her claws out of my chairs. Four of the eight legs are destroyed, this item (with the enclosed catnip) saved the other four legs! Well worth the money!
The item is excellent. I wish you could buy refills for it. Cosmic Catnip is the best catnip in the world! The cardboard scratcher lasts a long time, I`m forever vacumning it off of my carpet!
