I have very dry, sensitive skin and I was excited when Purpose came out with an affordable product aimed at reducing redness. The only other products that I know that are aimed at reducing redness and that are cheap are the Aveeno Ultra-Calming line (which is purfumed and will cause skin irritations). This has no dyes or fragrance so I gave it a try. It seemed to kind of sit on top of my skin instead of absorb into it, and it gave me an oily appearance. Within about 2 hours my face had a what looked like a thick film of oil lying on top but I could see how dry my face was underneath (it was actually flaking). I continued using it for about a week and saw no substancial improvment in the redness of my skin, but oil still seemed to gather ontop with dryness underneath. I quit using it.
I love this product. A famous dermatologist in Manhattan NYC recommended that I use this and explained the importance of moisterizing your skin even if you have oily/acne prone skin. Unfortunately back then I could not continue spending much money on visits, but I continued using Purpose throughout these past years. This is something I will continue using for a lifetime. I highly recommend it.
Have been using for a year, and my skin is so supple and smooth, my sister-in-law asked what I am doing to make my skin so nice! The red triangle on my chest, from years of wearing v-necks, has all but disappeared, and it does help my rosacea quite a bit. BUT- when I stopped using it when I had to stay indoors for a few weeks, the redness crept back in. So I use it every day. It does leave a thin film, which I cannot feel but washes off each night as a slippery coating (one swipe with water). LOVE IT!
