Simple elegance. Read Short Strapless Satin Dress with Ruched Empire reviews from around the web. When the dress says it all, what more can we say? This short strapless number features ruching at the empire waist and a flattering sash detail. The soft satin and A-line design makes it a fabulous look for all body types. Fully lined. Back zip. Imported polyester. Dry clean only.
I absolutely love this dress! I wore it to the Navy Day Ball and it was perfect! The material is so elegant and the color is gorgeous! It fell down a little, but that's the nature of a strapless dress. I would totally recommend it!
Review:The online photo of this dress doesn't do it justice! I'm so impressed with the quality of the fabric (a heavy lush satin) and the color (it's such a beautiful red!). I plan to wear it to my friend's wedding (I'm just a guest, not a bridesmaid) and again to future cocktail parties/formals. I tried it on and showed it to my girlfriends and they said it is hot, hot, hot! Oh, and elegant too!Fitting tips:Since this dress is only available online and my measurements are hard to match with the dress chart (my bust is 36'', waist 28.5'', and hips 43''), I went to the local David's Bridal store with the style # for this dress and asked to try on a similar dress to get a better estimate of what size to order (turns out I'm a size 8 despite what the dress size chart recommended for my hips!).The A-line structure and empire waist make the dress very flattering for any figure (especially for ladies with full hips, thighs, and butt like me!). The dress just hits right below the knee, making it elegant but not too formal. I especially like the subtle sweetheart neckline (very flattering on the bust!) and the sash that ties on the back (partially covers yet accentuates the curves of the hips/thighs/butt!). My only critique of the dress is that it tends to slip down (maybe because my bust is not big enough!). Some of David's strapless dresses have a built-in-bra type thing inside them to help them stay up, but this one doesn't have this. I plan to use that fabric-specific double-sided tape that you find in lingerie sections to prevent slippage.Overall: I love this dress! Can't wait to wear it!
